Following 2020’s ‘Fall in Love with Yourself’ — a screwed concrète rework of Eartha Kitt’s famous ‘relationships’ interview — M. Quake makes an auspicious return on Valentine’s Day, this time channelling Annie Lennox’s bittersweet ‘Little Bird’ into a long-form, laid-back and echo-laden groove, with lyrics and vocal accompaniment courtesy of Jonnine.
A major player in the Melbourne/Naarm underground scene, Tarquin has released an array of solo music (LST, Silzedrek, Static Cleaner Lost Reward); co-produced albums with YL Hooi and Carla dal Forno; played in cult groups Kallista Kult and F ingers; and appeared on labels like A Colourful Storm, Low Company, Blackest Ever Black and Efficient Space.
